Australian Labradoodles with Health, Heart & Heritage

“Tegan Park’s Monarch, the foundation furbaby who first showed us what a true Australian Labradoodle should be – athletic, intuitive, and deeply people‑focused.”

Our Process

At Selah Doodles, we keep the path to your Australian Labradoodle puppy clear and intentional. Below is exactly what to expect from your first inquiry all the way to go‑home day.

Step 1: Submit Your Puppy Application

Everything begins with our Puppy Adoption Application. This form helps us learn about your home, experience, preferences, and what you’re hoping for in a companion.

  • There is no fee to apply.

  • Completing the application does not obligate you to purchase a puppy.

  • We review each application personally to be sure an Australian Labradoodle is a good fit and that we can serve your family well.

Once we’ve reviewed your application, we’ll follow up by email or phone with any questions and let you know if you’re approved to move to the next step.

Step 2: Approval & Reservation Invitation

If your application is approved, we will invite you to reserve a spot for an upcoming litter, such as Ophelia × Mene.

In that message, we’ll confirm:

  • Which litter or timeframe you’re reserving for

  • Our current puppy price and what it includes

  • Approximate due date and go‑home window

You’ll also receive a link or instructions to place your $500 reservation fee.

Step 3: $500 Reservation Fee

To hold your place, we require a $500 reservation fee per puppy, payable only after your application has been approved.

  • The $500 reservation fee is applied in full to your puppy’s total purchase price.

  • Your reservation holds a spot in our program or a specific litter, not a guarantee of a particular individual puppy.

  • Selah Doodles always reserves the right to keep one or more puppies from any litter for our own breeding program before pet homes make their selections.

Refunds and Transfers

Life happens, and we aim to be fair while also protecting our time and planning.

  • If we cannot provide you with a puppy that meets the general criteria we agreed on (for example, sex or size) from the planned litter or a subsequent litter in a reasonable time, you may choose to:

    • Transfer your reservation fee to a future litter, or

    • Receive a full refund of your reservation fee.

  • If you decide to cancel for any reason after placing your reservation fee:

    • If we are able to place another approved family into your reserved spot before puppy selections are finalized, we are happy to refund your reservation fee in full.

    • If we are not able to replace your spot with another approved buyer, the reservation fee becomes non‑refundable, but may be transferred to a future litter at our discretion.

  • If we make multiple attempts to contact you without a response, or if you back out very close to go‑home day after we have turned away other approved families, we may treat your reservation as forfeited and offer the puppy to another home.

Step 4: Pregnancy Confirmation & Litter Updates

Once pregnancy is confirmed, we’ll send an update to families who have reserved spots in that litter.

From there, you can expect:

  • Occasional emails or posts with pregnancy and puppy news

  • Photos and updates as puppies arrive and grow

  • Reminders about timing for matches, contracts, and final payment

We encourage families to follow along, ask questions, and begin preparing their home during this time.

Step 5: Matching Puppies to Families

Around 6–7 weeks of age, after we’ve had time to evaluate temperament and watch puppies in different situations, we begin confirming matches for each family.

  • When making placements, we consider:
  • Each puppy’s personality and energy
  • Your household, goals, and experience
  • Any important considerations (allergies, children, other pets, etc.)

We do our best to honor your general preferences for sex and color, but temperament and family fit always come first to set both puppies and families up for success.

Step 6: Contract & Final Payment

Once your puppy match is confirmed, we’ll send you our Sales Contract & Health Warranty for review and signature.

  • The contract outlines our health guarantees, spay/neuter or breeding terms if applicable, our return‑to‑breeder clause, and what is included with your puppy.

  • The remaining balance of the purchase price is typically due before pickup, by a specified date, using one of the payment methods listed in your contract and email.

We are happy to answer any questions you have before you sign so you feel confident and informed.

Step 7: Gotcha‑Day

Puppies usually go home around 8 weeks of age, once they are developmentally ready and have had their first vet visit.

At pickup (or before travel arrangements), you’ll receive:

  • Your puppy’s health record and vaccination/deworming history

  • Feeding information and current schedule

  • Any microchip information, if applicable

  • Our basic care and transition tips, and reminders about early training and socialization

If You Cannot Keep Your Dog

We are committed to every puppy we breed for its entire life. If at any time you are unable to keep your dog, you agree to contact Selah Doodles first so we can help with rehoming or, when appropriate, take the dog back into our program.

This is part of our ethical responsibility as breeders and is included in your contract.

Ready to Begin?

If this process sounds like a good fit for your family, your next step is to complete our Puppy Adoption Application. Once we’ve reviewed it, we’ll reach out with any questions and, if approved, invite you to place your $500 reservation fee to join the waitlist for an upcoming Selah Doodles litter.

Our Story

Selah Doodles began more than a decade ago when our first Australian Labradoodle, Tegan Park’s Monarch, came home from one of the original development kennels that helped shape this remarkable breed. That experience set the standard for what we believe an Australian Labradoodle should be: healthy, intuitive, biddable, and truly part of the family.

After stepping away from breeding for several years, we are relaunching Selah Doodles with Ophelia of Barksdale Labradoodles and future breeding dogs from established Tegan Park and Rutland Manor-based lines, focusing on a small number of carefully planned litters each year.

*The name Selah reminds us to pause on purpose—to rest, reflect, and enjoy the moment—so at Selah Doodles we like to say we create ‘intentional paws’ in busy lives, one gentle, joyful set of paws at a time.
